Young Guns recognised for workforce diversity at the ALC Awards

Young Guns has been recognised with the ALC Supply Chain Workforce Diversity Award for its commitment to inclusion, Indigenous employment and career pathways.

Young Guns has been recognised with the Supply Chain Workforce Diversity Award at the Australian Logistics Council Awards, acknowledging our ongoing commitment to creating meaningful employment opportunities for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and other under-represented groups.

While the award recognises progress made, it also reflects a belief that has shaped Young Guns from the beginning: unlocking potential creates better outcomes for people, businesses and communities.

Backing people who haven’t always had a fair shot

At Young Guns, workforce inclusion isn’t a program that sits alongside operations. It’s built into how the business recruits, develops and supports its people.

That approach is reflected in the workforce today. Indigenous representation now sits at 9% across Young Guns’ Australian workforce, and almost 19% when including Māori and Canadian First Nations team members across the broader business.

More importantly, those numbers continue to grow as more people are given access to meaningful employment, development opportunities and long-term career pathways.

The role of Potential First Pathways

A key driver of that growth has been Potential First Pathways, Young Guns’ training-to-employment program designed to support young Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people into meaningful employment.

The program combines mentoring, learning opportunities and cultural support to create a safe environment where participants can build confidence, develop skills and transition into paid work.

Many graduates have successfully moved into ongoing employment, creating positive outcomes not only for individuals but for families and communities as well.

Recognition of a shared effort

This recognition belongs to the many team members, mentors, customers and community partners who continue to create opportunities for people who may not have always had a fair shot.

Thank you to the Australian Logistics Council and congratulations to all finalists and award recipients.
