In 2004, brothers Scott and Trent Young weren't setting out to build a business. They were pursuing professional rugby careers and unloading shipping containers to earn a living. When a job needed more hands on deck, Scott and Trent rallied their mates and got the job done. What started as a simple solution to a customer problem became the foundation of Young Guns.
Growing up in the bush near Roma, Mandandanji Country and through their experience in sport, the brothers learned the value of teamwork, responsibility and backing the people around you. Long before there was a formal set of company values, these experiences shaped a simple belief - when people feel valued and connected, they perform at their best. As the business grew, the connection to their Aboriginal heritage deepened, reinforcing a focus on community, opportunity and positive impact beyond the workplace.
Those principles continue to guide Young Guns today. From a single warehouse operation, the business has grown to support customers across Australia, New Zealand and Canada. While the business has evolved, the principles remain the same - do the job properly, look after your people and leave a lasting impact on individuals, families and communities.
Our values aren’t statements on a wall - they’re the foundation of how we operate, shaping our teamwork, leadership and performance every day.
We look after our people so they can look after the job. When the crew feels they belong, they show up ready and committed to every shift.
We set the bar high and hold ourselves to it. Our teams are trained, measured and driven to improve, delivering genuine outcomes for our customers and communities.
We keep our promises and own the outcomes. That means fewer surprises, genuine accountability and early communication with our customers and crews.
We measure success by the change we create, not just the metrics we hit - from pioneering Indigenous employment pathways to delivering measurable customer savings.
That's why we created Potential First Pathways - giving young Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people a real start, with paid work, mentoring, cultural connection and support that continues beyond the first day on the job.
